General Descriptions

For more than 60 years the Staffa name has been synonymous with the best in class radial piston hydraulic motors. The Staffa product range has continued to develop into fixed, variable, and high power versions that provide high-torque, low-speed control to a wide range of applications.

The Kawasaki Staffa range of high torque low speed fixed displacement radial piston hydraulic motors consists of 13 frame sizes ranging from the HMB010 to HMB500. Capacity ranges from 188 to 8,000 cc/rev. The rugged, well-proven design incorporates high efficiency, combined with good breakout torque and smooth running capability. Various features and options are available including, on request, mountings to match competitors’ interfaces.

The Kawasaki “Staffa” range also includes dual and continuously variable displacement motors. To obtain details of this product range please refer to datasheet M-2002/09.14.

Staffa motors are found in the most arduous marine and industrial applications such as deck machinery, offshore winches, plastic injection molding machines, and drill rigs. The hydraulically balanced construction and Kawasaki's no-compromise approach to quality result in a motor with levels of reliability unmatched in the market today.

The latest addition to the Staffa range is the HMF 3-speed motor, available in four frame sizes, ranging from 1,475 ccs/rev to 5,326 cc/rev. With 3 displacement modes, it is the only motor of its kind currently on the market.
